THE LAST MOUNTAIN
POLISH TITLE: OSTATNIA GÓRA
In January 2018, the Polish expedition to K2, one of the last eight-thousanders not summited in winter, began. The veterans of Polish Himalayan mountaineering, including Krzysztof Wielicki, Adam Bielecki or Denis Urubko, took part in it. The film is a recording of an ascent in extreme conditions, long days spent in the base camp and discussions and arguments between climbers. It also shows the spectacular rescue operation that saved the life of Élisabeth Revol, who was stranded near the summit of Nanga Parbat together with Tomasz Mackiewicz.

Dariusz Załuski urodził się 4 sierpnia 1959 roku w Warszawie. Jest polskim alpinistą, himalaistą, taternikiem, a także reżyserem, scenarzystą i fotografem. Zdobył pięć ośmiotysięczników, w tym K2 oraz (dwukrotnie) Mount Everest. Załuski tworzy głównie dokumenty o tematyce górskiej. Jego przygoda z filmem górskim rozpoczęła się w 1997 roku od kręcenia zdjęć na ostatniej wyprawie kierowanej przez Andrzeja Zawadę. Obecnie ma na swoim koncie kilkanaście filmów dokumentujących wyprawy górskie, których bohaterami jest wielu czołowych polskich i zagranicznych himalaistów.
