WHEN THE WIND BECOMES SILENT

POLISH TITLE: KIEDY UMILKNIE WIATR

In 1956, Janusz Sidło headed to the Melbourne Olympic Games as the absolute favourite for the gold medal. He was a world record holder and a European champion. During the final, he lent his javelin to his most dangerous rival, the Norwegian Egil Danielsen. The event, which went down in sports history as one of the most beautiful examples of fair play, was to have unexpected consequences for both champions. This is a story not only about one of the most interesting sports rivalries, but also about the power of myth.
