FROM GRUNWALD VILLAGE
POLISH TITLE: ZE WSI GRUNWALD
Every Polish child knows what happened in Grunwald in 1410. It is a symbol of victory, a cause for pride. The contemporary Grunwald, deep in mediocrity and stagnation, is the opposite of the former place of glory. The documentary shows a sleepy village and its inhabitants adopting an ironic perspective. Once a year they are visited by politicians and tourists who come to anniversary celebrations, avid for historical experiences and patriotic emotions.
