POLISH TITLE: 52 PROCENT

Alla wants to become a ballet dancer very much. It is her another attempt to be admitted to the famous Russian Waganowa Ballet Academy in Sankt Petersburg. Entrance exams are extremely difficult for her. Alla needs to practice additionally to lengthen her legs since her proportions are not correct. 52% is an ideal ratio of legs to height. The film was made during the second edition of the project Russia – Poland. New Gaze.

Rafał Skalski - born 1985, 8 September. Film director and script writer of documentaries, fictions and commercials.A graduate of the Directing Department of the Polish National Film School in Lodz. His films “52 percent" (Polish National Television, 2007), “Girls” (Polish National Television, 2009), “Play with me” (Polish National Television, 2010),”Lovers” (HBO, 2010) have been awarded and screened at many international festivals such as Cannes, IDFA Amsterdam, DOXA Vancouver, London, Lisbon, Toronto, Cracow, etc.He has been awarded several scholarships for talented young artists in Poland, participated at the Berlinale Talent Campus and is a member of the Polish Film Academy.
