ABU HARAZ AWARDED AT TAC FESTIVAL
The documentary film "Abu Haraz" by Maciej Drygas won two awards at The Archeology Channel International Film and Video Festival.
The festival's mission is to show the audience our place in the world against the background of diverse cultures, both the past and the present ones. The event aims to promote films dedicated to cultural archaeology and the indigenous peoples. During the festival, "Abu Haraz" was given the jury's special mention for cinematography and special mention in the category the best documentary about culture change.
Abu Haraz is a small village located among the deserts of northern Sudan. Building a large dam on the Nile is in conflict with the ancient, natural rhythm of life of the local population. The filmmakers spent many years with the inhabitants of Abu Haraz, observing their urgent attempts to reverse the course of history.
