"BROTHERS" AND "CALL ME MARIANNA" WIN IN LOCARNO

On August 15, ended the 68th Locarno International Film Festival. As many as two Polish documentary films, which appeared in the competition La Semaine de la Critique, return from Switzerland with awards.

Grand Prix of the section La Semaine de la Critique went to the document "Brothers", directed by Wojciech Staroń. The Premio Zonta Club Locarno award for special social sensitivity went to the film "Call me Marianna" by Karolina Bielawska.

La Semaine de la Critique is an independent section of the festival, co-organised with Swiss Film Critics Association since 1990. In the competition, only seven films were shown, including three Polish ones: apart from "Brothers" and "Call Me Marianna," the film "K2. Touching the sky" by Eliza Kubarska was also shown in Locarno.

The winner of the previous edition is the documentary film by Zuzanna Solakiewicz, "15 Corners of the World".
