KFF INDUSTRY: FOCUS ON ESTONIA CONFERENCE AND DLP CO-PRODUCTION MARKET IN KRAKOW
As every year, Krakow Film Festival honours cinematography of selected country. The upcoming edition will be focused on Estonian cinema. Apart from the filmmakers, who will come to present their films, Krakow will also host Estonian film industry representatives. Especially for them, there will be held Focus on Estonia Conference.
Estonian cinematography will be the special guest of 58th Krakow Film Festival. “Focus on Estonia” programme includes selection of the newest Estonian documentary, short and animated movies. Focus on Estonia Conference is the section’s highlight. Principal aim of the conference is presentation of Estonian cinematography, starting from the most important movies and directors, through film institutions and festivals, ending with production and financing of documentary films. The panel guests will be Estonian producers, filmmakers, TV stations editors, representatives of institutions financing film projects and representatives of Estonian film festivals. Experts who confirmed their particiaption include: Priit Pärn (Estonian Academy of Arts), Priit Tender (Festiwal PÖFF Shorts), Riho Västrik (Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication School), Filipp Kruusvall (DocPoint Tallinn), Laurence Boyce (Festiwal Black Nights - PÖFF), Kaarel Kuurmaa (Estonian Film Institute), Karlo Funk (Estonian Public Broadcasting), Marianna Kaat (Baltic Film Production).
The Conference will be held on 30th May 2018, 10.00 - 14.30 in Krakow Technology Park (KPT).
The accompanying event of the Conference will be co-organized by the Wladyslaw Slesicki Film Foundation – Doc Lab Poland Co-production Market - international co-production meetings for invited producers, including producers from Estonia. In addition to individual meetings in the one-on-one formula, there will be presentations on the possibilities of co-production with Germany or France, cooperation with TVP or ARTE, as well as on bringing closer the American model of documentary film distribution based on the example of Women Make Movies – an organization led by Debra Zimmerman. Participation in the meetings was confirmed by sales agents, distributors, film commissions, commissioning editors, funds and representatives of pitching forums from around the world.
Doc Lab Poland Co-production Market will be held also on 30th May 2018, 10.00 - 18.30 in Krakow Technology Park (KPT).
