POLISH PROJECT AT VISIONS DU REEL
The documentary project The Guest by Michał Bielawski, Zuzanna Solakiewicz, and Zvika Gregory Portnoy has been invited to VdR-Pitching.
The Visions du Reél festival has been organised in the Swiss city of Nyon since 1969. In the early days of the Nyon festival, screenings featured mainly Swiss films and productions from so-called Eastern Bloc countries – which were very difficult for Western audiences to see. Nowadays Visions du Reél is one of the largest documentary film festivals in Europe.
This year's edition of the festival will take place on 7–17 April.
VdR-Pitching enables documentary producers to present their projects in front of a group of film professionals, including commissioning editors, distributors, or co-producers. Each year, around 18 feature-length documentary projects take part in the pitching session, which should be produced with a view to theatrical and international distribution.
The Guest directed by Michał Bielawski, Zuzanna Solakiewicz, and Zvika Gregory Portnoy, which is currently being produced, is a documentary dealing with the Polish-Belarusian border. The film is produced by Maria Krauss – Plesnar & Krauss FILMS.
