“APOLONIA, APOLONIA” TO HAVE US PREMIERE AT TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL

This time, Lea Glob's film has impressed the selectors of the famous American Tribeca Film Festival. The documentary has been invited to the Viewpoints section.

The Tribeca Film Festival is one of the most important American independent film festivals. Traditionally held in spring in New York's Tribeca district, this year's event has been moved to June. The festival was created in 2001 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff. The organisers were keen to revitalise the economic and cultural life of this part of New York after the 9/11 attacks. Each year, the program features outstanding films from around the world.

The award-winning Apolonia, Apolonia will have its North American premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

The documentary tells the story of French-Polish painter Apolonia Sokol, who leaves Denmark and moves to her native Paris to work on her art there. Viewers will get the chance to see the evolution of her beliefs about sexuality, art, ideals and love, and witness how her talent matures while she herself shifts to the commercial side of the artistic world.

This year's Tribeca Film Festival will take place from 7th to 18th June.
