“KOMPLETA” RECEIVES UK INTERNATIONAL PREMIERE

Directed by Magdalena Hueckel and Tomasz Śliwiński," Kompleta" makes its international debut at the 15 th Aesthetica Film Festival in York. The production has been selected as one of five feature-length documentaries invited to this prestigious event.

"Aesthetica Film Festival is amongst Britain most significant events for documentary and short-form cinema, holding qualifying status for BAFTA and BIFA awards. The festival has built its reputation on promoting diversity, equality, and creative innovation, all while supporting emerging filmmakers from across the globe. Audiences will get to see Kompleta on 5 November at a screening in the Yorkshire Museum. This international premiere represents yet another significant distinction for Hueckel and Śliwiński – several years ago, the filmmakers received an Academy Award nomination for their short documentary "Our Curse".

About the film

"Kompleta" is a deeply affecting, experimental chronicle of a woman's healing process after a cancer diagnosis in the eighth month of pregnancy. The filmmakers weave together elements of raw documentary footage, personal video diary entries, the subjects visual art, and music that lends the narrative an emotional cadence. The result is an intimate portrait of human resilience, transformation, and the power to heal and instill hope that only love can give.

The film was produced at Studio Munka SFP with funds from the Polish Filmmakers Association, with support from the Polish Film Institute. Hueckel Studio serves as co-producer.
