The Ukrainian-Polish documentary "Traces", directed by Alisa Kovalenko and Marysia Nikitiuk and awarded at the Berlinale, has been selected as Ukraine’s official submission for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.

The short documentary “Yellow Is The Last Color.”, directed by Agata Majcherowicz, won the top prize at the 8th edition of the Directed By Women Türkiye Film Festival, held in Istanbul from 11-13 September. The festival also marked the film’s international premiere.

Andrei Kutsila’s "Letters from the Silenced Country" has received The Impact Golden Globes Prize for Documentary presented by Artemis Rising Foundation at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. The documentary, a poignant portrait of contemporary Belarus and people whose lives have been marked by political repression, was screened in the Venice Open – Out of Competition section. The award is another major international recognition for a film that gives a voice to those whom an authoritarian regime has sought to silence.

The Polish documentary project "35 Letters", directed by Zuzanna Solakiewicz, has received the East Doc Platform Award at Baltic Sea Docs 2026 in Riga. Produced by Maria Krauss of Plesnar & Krauss Films, the project begins with a collection of letters written three decades ago by teenage girls dreaming of becoming models and confronts the aspirations captured in those letters with the lives of the women they have since become. The award grants the team accreditation to the next edition of East Doc Platform, including access to one-on-one industry meetings.
