DOCS TO GO! – SELECTED PROJECTS
The selection of the projects that will take part in the second edition of Docs to go! has just ended. Docs to go! is a joint initiative of Krakow Film Foundation and Polish Film Institute.
On May 29th the following projects will be presented in Krakow:
- "Bracia" (“Brothers”), dir. Wojciech Staroń (Staron-Film)
- "15 stron świata" (“15 corners of the world") dir. Zuzanna Solakiewicz (Endorfina Studio)
- "One Man Show", dir Jakub Piątek (Telemark)
- "Efekt domino" (“The domino effect”), dir. Piotr Rosołowski i Elwira Niewiera (Otter Films)
- "Mnich z morza" (“A Monk from the sea”, dir. Rafał Skalski (Centrala)
- "Deep Love", dir. Jan P. Matuszyński ( Cor Leonis Production, Otter Films)
- "Powroty Agnieszki H." (“Agnieszka’s H. comebacks”), dir. Krystyna Krauze i Jacek Petrycki (Centrala)
- "Stan umysłu",(“State of mind”) dir. Daria Lipko (Opus Film)
After the presentation the participants will consult their project with experts, such as sales agents, distributors and festivals’ representatives, during individual meetings.
Docs to go! 2012 in Krakow.
Some of the projects presented in Krakow last year, during the first edition of Docs to go!, will have its premieres in the competitive sections of 53rd Krakow Film festival this year. These projects are:
- "Ojciec i syn w podróży" (“Father and son on a journey”), dir. Marcel Łoziński (Documentary Competition – feature length documentaries and National Competition)
- "Dziennik z podróży" (“A diary of a journey"), dir. Piotr Stasik (Documentary Competition – medium length documentaries and National Competition)
- "Ojciec i syn", (“Father and son”) dir. Paweł Łoziński (Documentary Competition – medium length documentaries and National Competition)
- "Kiedy będę ptakiem" („When I am a bird), dir. Monika Pawluczuk (former title "Birmańskie obręcze" („The rings of Burma”) – Short Film Competition – documentraies and National Competition)
- "Matka 24h" („Mother 24/7”), dir. Marcin Janos Krawczyk (Short Film Competition – documentaries and National Competition)
Films at different production stages
The films that were shown in last year’s edition of Docs to go! are now at different production stages. Some of them like “Yula’s dream” (former title: "Svalka. Yula’s story") by Hanna Polak or “Six degrees” by Bartosz Dombrowski are currently in postproduction. They are planned to be finished before the end of 2013.
Docs to go! films at international film festivals
“The art of disappearing” by Bartek Konopka and Piotr Rosołowski, which was presented at the first edition of Docs to go!, has been shown in the competitive section of Visions du Reel Film Festival in Nyon, Switzerland. The same film was screened at the Opening Gala of 10th Planete+ Doc Film Festival. Another film presented at last year’s Docs to go! - “Fuck For Forest" by Michał Marczak – had its premiere at 28th Warsaw Film Festival where it won the Grand Prix of the Documentary Competition. Later on the film has been screened at Hot Docs Film Festival, True/False Film Festival, SXSW Film Festivalw USA, DocPoint Film Festival and Doc/Fest in Sheffield, among others. „Yorzeit” by Zuzanna Solakiewicz had its American premiere at Jorcajt" York Jewish Film Festival and apart from that, the film has been broadcasted on Canal+.
