POLISH FILM PROJECTS AT THE BALTIC SEA FORUM FOR DOCUMENTARIES
This year's edition of the Baltic Sea Forum for Documentaries is held in Riga from 3rd to 5th September. Three Polish film projects and one Polish-German co-production qualified for the participation in the forum.
Baltic Sea Forum for Documentaries is a pitching session, together with workshops and film screenings. The forum is dedicated to films from Baltic countries and to films produced in other countries, which are connected to the Baltic region through their subject matter. This year's event is scheduled for 3-5 September in Riga.
The organisers have announced the list of 24 film projects, which are qualified for participation in the forum. These include three Polish productions:
- "Birdwatching," directed and produced Katarzyna Trzaska
- "Genius on demand," directed and produced by Aleksandra and Mirosław Skowron
- "Staring at the sun," directed and produced by Maciek Hamela
and one German-Polish co-production:
- "Joanna's Secret," directed by Władysław Jurkow, Gerburg Rohde-Dahl, produced by Jan Kaczmarek
This year, distributors, sales agents and representatives of the television channels from the following organisations will take part in the Baltic Sea Forum for Documentaries: DR International Sales, First Hand Films, HRT, MDR, SVT, Taskovski Films, TVP and YLE. The lecturers will include the following: Mikael Opstrup (European Documentary Network, Denmark), Tue Steen Müller (consultant, Denmark), Emma Davie (director, lecturer at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland), Hanka Kastelicová (HBO Europe, Hungary), Ivana Pauerová Miloševičová (Film Studio, Czech Television, the Czech Republic) and Thierry Detaille (Ventes-CBAWIP-Sales/Visible Film, Belgium). The Swedish editor Phil Jandaly will be a constant help to the participants of the workshops, giving them advice on the trailers of their films.
