FESTIVALS IN JULY

In July, Polish documentary films take a holiday break from festivals. However, some of them will be shown during festival screenings abroad, check out, where.

The festival Rooftop Films in the United States lasts two summer months, during which the film by Sławomir Batyra "The Great Theater" and the animated documentary film "A Documentary Film" by Marcin Podolec will be shown. "A Documentary Film" is not idle during the holidays, and in July it will be shown also at the Italian festival Capalbio Cinema and at Lago Film Fest, at the Slovakian Fest Anca, at the Portuguese Vila do Conde and at the French Best of International Short Film Festival.

A strong Polish representation appears at the Estonian festival Parnu. In the competition, as many as six documentary films will vie for the awards: "Unstoppables" by Bartosz M. Kowalski, "K2. Touching the Sky" by Eliza Kubarska, "Goran the Camel Man" by Marcin Lesisz, "Life of a Butterfly" by Piotr Bernaś, "Piano" by Vita Maria Drygas and "Brothers" by Wojciech Staroń.

In the second half of the month, the documentary film "Invisible" by Zofia Pręgowska will compete for the awards at the festival "Prvi Kadar" in Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereas in Italy, at the mountain film festival Cervino Cinemountain, in the competition  we will see "The Place" by Julia Popławska and "Jurek" by Paweł Wysoczański. Also in Italy, at Shorts International Film Festival, "Object" by Paulina Skibińska will be shown. In July, too, at the festival Traverse City Film Festival, the audience in the USA will have a chance to watch "Snails" by Grzegorz Szczepaniak.

The screenings in July end with the festival T-Mobile New Horizons, where four Polish short documentary films are included in the programme. In Wroclaw, the following films will be shown: "Last Season" by Sławomir Witek, "Snails" by Grzegorz Szczepaniak, "Three Conversations on Life" by Julia Staniszewska and "Second Life" by Eugeniusz Pankov.
