TWO POLISH FILMS AWARDED AT WIZ-ART

Last Sunday the official closing ceremony of the Wiz-Art Festival took place in Ukraine. Two Polish productions were awarded in Lviv: "Hot and Cold" by Marta Prus and "Polonaise" by Agnieszka Elbanowska.

Wiz-Art is a short film festival which every year presents over 100 productions from the whole world. The films are presented in and outside the competition, which allows the Ukrainian audience to see the most recent productions.

This year two Polish films were awarded at the festival. Marta Prus won the Best Directing title for her film "Hot and Cold". The jury appreciated director's mature voice and strong visual representation of an emotionally complex story. The other Polish success in Lviv was achieved by "Polonez", a documentary film by Agnieszka Elbanowska. The film received a special mention while the jury in their decision emphasized director's clever and sarcastic look at the cultural concept of nationalism.

The full list of the awarded films can be found at the festival website.
