FESTIVALS IN APRIL
Spring is in bloom, so there is a lot of Polish films at festivals. Polish documentary film will be shown at the Doker Moscow in Russia and at the Hot Docs in Canada. Let's find out where Polish productions will also appear.
In March started Belgrad Documentary and Short Film Festival, where "Volte" by Monika Kotecka and Karolina Poryzała was invited to the programme. This short documentary film was also included in the competition at the festivals Aspen Shortfest and Sarasota Film Festival in the USA and at the festival DOKer Moscow. In Russia, you can also watch "Collection" by Marcin Polar, "Call Me Tony" by Klaudius Chrostowski and "Dust" by Jakub Radej.
This month, "Dust" will also be shown at It’s All True in Brazil and at the festival Go Short in the Netherlands. Apart from this film, "Rogalik" by Paweł Ziemilski and "The Sisters" by Michał Hytroś are also included in the programme there.
At the beginning of April, Polish films will appear in the USA. "Close Ties" by Zofia Kowalewska will participate in the Cleveland festival in the USA, and "Desert Coffee" in AmDocs - the American Documentary Film Festival. This month, two screenings in the United States are in store for "Two Worlds" by Maciej Adamek: at the festival Thin Line Fest and at the Richmond International Film & Music Festival. Apart from the screenings in the USA, the film by Marcin Adamek will be shown this month at The Norwegian Documentary Film Festival in Norway and at the Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in Moldova.
This month, in Chile at the Talca IFF, you can watch the Polish-American co-production "Have No Fear" by Beata Calińska and Sarah Jacobson, and in Egypt, "Arabic Secret" by Julia Groszek at the Ismailia IFF. In April, the audience at the international festivals will watch "Ethiopiques - The Revolt of Soul" by Maciej Bochniak two times: at the International Film Festival Gorinchem in the Netherlands and at the IndieLisboa in Portugal.
The second half of April is dedicated to the International Film Festival of Lanzarote, which will present the documentary film "Pasdar" by Grzegorz Piekarski, the Moscow IFF in Russia, where you can watch "Opera about Poland" by Piotr Stasik and the FISH Filmfestival in Germany, at which "Brothers" by Wojciech Staroń will be shown.
On the 26th of April starts the International Documentary Film Festival "Hot Docs" in Canada. In the programme of this year's edition, there are five Polish documentary films: "Beksińscy. A Sound and Video Album" by Marcin Borchardt, "Leocadia's Dream" by Krzysztof Nowicki, "Hugo" by Wojciech Klimala and Mateusz Wajda, "Over the Limit" by Marta Prus and "The Prince and the Dybbuk" by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski.
