POLISH DOCUMENTARY FILMS AT INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS IN SEPTEMBER
In September, after the summer break, Polish documentary films return to the festival rhythm. A dozen or so documentary films will be shown at international screenings.
In the first half of the month, the Korean Ulju Mountain Film Festival is held, at which the documentary film "Connected" by Aleksandra Maciejczyk will be shown. Also in Korea, but at the festival DMZ Docs, you can watch "Dancing For You" by Katarzyna Lesisz. This documentary film will also appear at the Fike Evora International Short Film Festival in Portugal, where "Love 404" by Agata Baumgart and "In A Lion" by Karol Lindholm are invited, too. "In A Lion" will also feature at the Ânûû-Rû Âboro festival in New Caledonia.
A large representation of Polish films is invited to the Quebec City Film Festival in Canada. Within the frames of the Polish Focus screenings, the following documentary films will be presented: "A Visit" by Mateusz Bobrik, "Super Unit" by Teresa Czepiec, "Daniel" by Anastazja Dąbrowska, "Close Ties" by Zofia Kowalewska, "Polonaise" by Agnieszka Elbanowska, "Volte" by Monika Kotecka and Karolina Poryzała, "A Documentary Film" by Marcin Podolec, "Sisters" by Michał Hytroś and "Dancing For You." Also in Canada, but at the Long Week du Court in Quebec, you can watch "The Tough" by Marcin Polar. The documentary film by Marcin Polar will also appear at the DC Shorts in the United States, at the Victory International Film Festival in the USA and at the Encounters ISFF in Great Britain. There, another Polish production will be presented: "Love 404." Yet another screening of the documentary film by Agata Baumgart this month is held at the Helsinki International Film Festival "Love & Anarchy."
A couple of screenings await the documentary film "Sisters" by Michał Hytroś in September. The film will feature at the Beast International Film Festival in Portugal, at the Equinoxio Film Festival in Colombia and at the Viva Film Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The film "Shooting Stars" by Magda Jaroszewicz, however, will appear at four festivals abroad: the Festival Internacional de Cine Documental de Buenos Aires in Argentina, the Festival International du Court Métrage de Lille in France, as well as at the Split Film Festival and at the Vox Feminae in Croatia.
In September, there are also two large festivals in Russia, where a considerable representation of Polish documentary films will be present. At the Message to Man International Film Festival, the following films will be shown: "The Wind. A Documentary Thriller" by Michał Bielawski, "In Touch" by Paweł Ziemilski, "Connected" by Aleksandra Maciejczyk and "The Briefing" by Filip Drzewiecki.
At the festival Flahertiana, however, within the frames of a special screening, these documentary films will be shown: "One Two Zero" by Anna Pawluczuk, "Their Voices" by Eri Mizutani, "The Last Lesson" by Grzegorz Zariczny, "Volte," "Urban Cowboys" by Paweł Ziemilski. The latest documentary film by Paweł Ziemilski, "In Touch," is included in the competition section at the Flahertiana.
