"LIFE COULD BE BEAUTIFUL" WINS IN JIHLAVA

Polish co-production directed by Filip Jacobson and Angelika Herta won in the competition at the student section Between the Seas at the Czech festival Ji.Hlava.

Ji.hlava International Film Festival is one of the oldest documentary film festivals in Eastern and Central Europe. Every year, numerous representatives of the film industry and the viewers yearning for interesting cinema come to Jihlava in the Czech Republic.

The award-winning film by Filip Jacobson and Angelika Herta had its world premiere at the festival. The documentary is a Polish-German co-production.

"Life Could be Beautiful" tells the story of a couple (of film-makers) who travel on bicycles through France, following in the footsteps of "Sketches with the Quill" by Andrzej Bobkowski, who travelled this route in 1941. First, they film their discoveries, but finally, they ask themselves the question who they are to each other as people. Life could be so beautiful if there were no fears, disastrous expectations and frustrations. A story about a journey taken by people in love, fighting for whom they want to be, told with a lot of humour.

This year's edition of the Ji.Hlava took place from the 24th to the 29th of October.
