We've learned the program of the prestigious Edinburgh International Film Festival.Polish documentary directed by Tomasz Wysokiński is among the selected films.
Edinburgh International Film Festival is one of the most important and oldest European festivals. Every year, for two weeks, audiences have the opportunity to see the most interesting British and international feature, animated, and documentary films of recent months. In addition to great productions, the viewers will attend exhibitions, concerts, workshops, and meetings with numerous guests.
This year, the Polish documentary “Walk with Angels” – directed by Tomasz Wysokiński – was invited to the program. The documentary is set in South Africa, where children are disappearing all too often. There is often organised business, a local conspiracy of silence, and chilling stories behind it. Jerry, who has been fighting his inner demons since childhood, attempts to find a girl from Soweto who was kidnapped several years ago. On his path through slums and murky streets, the protagonist stumbles upon traces of apartheid, local religious cults, and personal memories. Magnified by Paweł Mykietyn's hypnotic music, his private investigation – and an inner journey – will lead us to the very heart of darkness. The film is produced by Mañana.
The world premiere of the film took place at 61st Krakow Film Festival where the film was awarded with The Golden Hobby Horse for the best Polish film as well as special mantion for the original sountrack by Paweł Mykietyn, KFF recommendation to the European Film Awards and Award for the best producer.
This year's edition of the festival in Edinbourgh will be held on 18-25 August.
