INNER LANDSCAPES WITH TWO AWARDS AT EAST DOC PLATFORM
Zofia Sawicka's project won the East Doc Platform Award and the Docs Barcelona Award. Responsible for the production are Maciej Kubicki and Zofia Kujawska from Telemark.
East Doc Platform is a dedicated documentary film industry event organised by the Institute of Documentary Film. The event is attended by more than 400 guests each year, including around 100 decision-makers from the documentary industry: sales agents, distributors, representatives of film funds and festivals. This year's edition of the event will take place from 13-19 March in Prague.
‘Inner Landscapes ’ by Zofia Sawicka is a story about people of different nationalities and origins, travelling by train across the boundless, desolate steppes. For some, the journey lasts a few hours, for others - days. The characters face personal conflicts that create tensions and turn the stuffy interior of the train into an arena of difficult emotions. The diversity of characters and stories creates a unique mosaic of the modern world, exploring the condition of our human community and conveying an important message: deep down, being human means the same thing, regardless of the language, culture and background that divide us.
