"6 DEGREES" AWARDED AT SEHSUCHTE

The documentary film by Bartosz Dombrowski was given the award in the Best Editing category at the 44th International Student Film Festival Sehsüchte.

Sehsüchte is the largest student film festival in Europe. The aim of the festival is to promote young, talented film-makers at the international arena. The event's programme includes feature films, documentary, experimental and animated films. At this year's edition, the jury gave the best editing award to the film "6 degrees." Its decision was justified in the following way: "The art of editing is often unnoticed, though it is crucial to the film's structure. Sometimes, it remains invisible, and sometimes it is prominently displayed. In the film, which wins today, we can see both of these aspects. Each cut was well-thought-out and adds new energy to the film, engages the audience and takes it on a fascinating journey."  Mateusz Romaszkan and Iza Pająk were responsible for the editing.

"6 degrees" is a journey through places, lifestyles and characters: the documentary film is inspired by the theory of "six degrees of separation," according to which we are separated from any person in the world by six steps - interpersonal contacts. To verify this theory, the film-makers chose two people at random: Martyna - a punk rock singer from Warsaw and Marco Antonio - a farmer from a Mexican village - and set out on a journey to discover the links which bring them together.
