"KNIFE IN THE WIFE" WINS AT MEDIAWAVE
"Knife in the Wife" by Vita Maria Drygas won the Best Short Documentary award at the Mediawave festival in Hungary.
Polish short films conquered the hearts of the jury at the Mediawave festival, winning two out of four main awards for short films. Apart from the documentary film by Vita Maria Drygas, the feature film "Milky Brother" by Vahram Mkhitaryan was awarded. The Mediawave festival, organised in the Hungarian city Komarom, was held from April 28 to 2 May.
The jury of the documentary film competition: Sergey Bukowski (Ukraine), Boris Mitic (Serbia) and Buglya Sándor (Hungary) awarded "Knife in the Wife" by Vita Maria Drygas with the Best Short Documentary statuette.
"Knife in the wife" is a documentary impression showing the life of a provincial circus "Arizona." We watch the everyday life - sometimes grotesque, sometimes sad - of a six-person troupe, whose crowning glory is throwing knifes. And though the circus is past its prime, and the programme is not of the highest quality, the magic of the circus continues to glow and make the little viewers blush with joy.
