"THE PLACE" APPRECIATED IN NEW YORK
This year, the 8th edition of the Imagine Science Film Festival in New York was held. The documentary film by Julia Popławska was given a special mention at this festival.
During 9 days of screenings, the audience in New York watched films on 24 shows. The films competed in several competition categories. In the section The Science/AAAS Scientist Award, the documentary film "The Place" by Julia Popławska took the second place. This category awards films which show the work of scientists in a detailed, but also original way.
"The Place" depicts the highest workplace in Poland, where night observation of the surrounding world incessantly goes on. The employers of "the Place" suspended out of time and space, are unshakeably on their posts, in spite of any adversity and surprising situations.
