POLISH PROJECT AT TALENT HUB CEE

Aga Borzym's documentary project “Girls' Stories” will be presented at the Talent Hub CEE pitch session, and this isn't the only Polish element during this year's edition of Sunny Side of the Doc. This year – albeit only in the virtual space – there will be a special Focus on East-Central European countries featuring a large Polish delegation.

Taking place in La Rochelle, France, Sunny Side of the Doc is one of the world's largest documentary film fairs and a meeting place for professionals working in the documentary industry. The 2021 edition of Sunny Side of the Doc will be held online.

Talent Hub CEE  is series of pitch sessions for documentary projects already in the production stage. This year, one project from Poland has been invited to take part in the event. “Girls' Stories” by Aga Borzym is a coming-of-age story about two teenagers – 11-year-old Jagoda and 13-year-old Zuzia. We watch girls grow up and experience their ups and downs. The film is produced by Pinot Films.

A list of all qualified projects can be found here.

This year, the organisers of Sunny Side of the Doc have decided to take a closer look at documentary filmmakers from East-Central Europe. Delegations from the region will take part in all major events. The aim of The Central and Eastern European Delegation is to strengthen cooperation, promote projects, help find partners and potential co-producers to create extraordinary and unique documentaries. Special delegations from the Balkans (Balkan Documentary Center), the Czech Republic (Institute of Documentary Film and APA – Audiovisual Producers' Association), Slovakia (Slovak Film Institute), Hungary (MADOKE) and Poland (Krakow Film Foundation / Polish Docs) will participate in the events.
