POLISH PROJECTS AT BALTIC SEA DOCS
“Girl's Stories” by Aga Borzym and “Niezauważalni” by Piotr Bernaś are the two Polish projects invited to this year's edition of Industry Baltic Sea Docs.
Baltic Sea Docs is a pitch session combined with workshops and film screenings. The forum is intended for films from the Baltic countries and for those produced in other countries but related to the Baltic region through their subject matter. This year the event will be held in Riga on 1-12 September.
The organisers have announced the list of projects that qualified to participate in the forum. There are two Polish productions among them. Both titles were previously developed under the DOC DEVELOPMENT program and presented at this year's DOC LAB POLAND.
“Girl's Stories” by Aga Borzym is a coming-of-age story about two teenagers – 11-year-old Jagoda and 13-year-old Zuzia. We watch girls grow up and experience their ups and downs. The film is produced by Agnieszka Rostropowicz-Rutkowska and Marta Dużbabel.
In turn, “Invisibles” by Piotr Bernaś tells the story of 36-year-old Agnieszka, who struggles with depression after the unexpected and traumatic death of her husband. Her chance for improvement comes when she meets a large Chechen family. The film is produced by Aleksandra Szczęsna.
