POLISH REPRESENTATION IN ZAGREB

Nine Polish documentaries will compete for the „Big Stamp” at this year’s International Documentary Film Festival ZagrebDox. The Croatian festival starts 27 February.

Last year Wojciech Kasperski appeared among the ZagrebDox’s winners and his “Chasm” won the “Little Stamp” as the best film of young documentarist. It is quite possible that at this year’s edition of ZagrebDox the Polish documentary might success once again – especially when the representation in the competition is so strong. Nine Polish titles were qualified for the competitive programme:


DECLARATION OF IMMORTALITY, dir. Marcin Koszałka

A moving story about inability to come to terms with old age and about desire of immortality.


INVENTORY, dir. Paweł Łoziński

A short, metaphoric story, undertaking a problem of memory, identity, searching for traces of the recent past.


TOMORROW…, dir. Bartosz Kruhlik

One day from life of an old woman with a specific approach to life, who makes a reckoning with outward things.


A PIECE OF SUMMER, dir. Marta Minorowicz

The end of summer, the end of holidays, the wild nature and the specific relationship between grandfather and his grandson.


OH MY GOD, DEAR GOD, dir. Julia Popławska

An old couple of villagers sits in front of their house observing nature and commenting village's life.


OUT OF REACH, dir. Jakub Stożek

A story about two teenaged sisters whomake the great attempt to rebuild family relations that had been neglected by adults for years.


INTERROGATION, dir. Adam Palenta

The film deals with subjects of the cruelty of totalitarian system and incredible will of life that tries to oppose it.


CHARCOAL BURNERS, dir. Piotr Złotorowicz

Far from civilization, Marek and Janina live in the midst of the mountains following the rhythm dictated by nature.


THE TRIP, dir. Bartosz Kruhlik

A story about a thirteen-year-old girl who learn from her grandfather how to drive a scooter.



International Documentary Film Festival ZagrebDox will be held from the 27th of February to the 6th of Mars.
