“THE TUNERS” BY PAWEŁ CHORZĘPA SELECTED FOR THE TAMPERE FILM FESTIVAL COMPETITION
The programme of the 56th edition of the Tampere Film Festival in Finland – one of the most important film festivals in Europe – has just been announced. Among the selected titles is the short documentary film “The Tuners”, directed by Paweł Chorzępa, which has been qualified for the International Competition.
A total of 7,125 films were submitted to the International Competition, the festival’s largest and most prestigious section. From this number, 60 films from 44 countries were selected. The inclusion of “The Tuners” marks another significant international achievement for the project, following its world premiere at FIPADOC in Biarritz and its selection for the Short Film Market Picks at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
Paweł Chorzępa’s documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at one of the world’s most important piano competitions, focusing on an elite group of piano tuners. Over the course of many weeks, they work to achieve the perfect sound of the instruments. Their precision, experience, and sensitivity determine not only the quality of the sound, but also which piano the future winner of the competition will ultimately perform on.
The film is produced by Joanna Chorzępa of Bees Film House.
