FROM POLAND WITH SHORTS: CALLING AT MOSCOW
The London unveiling of FROM POLAND WITH SHORTS, a mini-festival of Polish shorts compiled by the Munk Studio under the auspices of Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union, is behind us. And now it’s time to hit the road again. From 28th October this cinematic feast of works by Poland’s youngest generation of filmmakers will be making its appearance in Moscow.
From 28th to 30th, audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy a varied bill of short features, animations and documentaries. The programme includes films which have already received numerous screenings and awards at international festivals. Some of the works were produced by the Munk Studio and Wajda Studio under special programmes for young filmmakers. The mini-festival also encompasses études made by students at Poland’s national film schools in Łódź and Katowice, as well as independent productions.
Lustre is added to the final day of the mini-festival by a meeting with Michał Wnuk, director of What the Doctors Say, the final film of the Russian screenings.
The Munk Studio, which operates under the auspices of the Polish Filmmaker’s Association, has created the FROM POLAND WITH SHORTS project in order to present the works of Poland’s youngest generation of filmmakers abroad.
After Moscow, it departs for Berlin, where it will form part of the Polish Autumn between 1st and 4th December, following which, it for Paris and screenings during the Festival du Cinema Polonais from 7th-13th December.
