Five Polish filmmakers and film professionals have received invitations to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization behind the Oscars. Among the 529 film industry representatives from around the world invited this year is Paweł Łoziński, who has been invited to join the Academy’s Documentary Branch.

Following a series of international successes, “Silver” by Natalia Koniarz has received another major award – this time in India. The film has won the Golden Conch, the top prize of the 19th Mumbai International Film Festival, awarded to the festival’s Best Documentary Film. The award was presented to director Natalia Koniarz and producer Maciej Kubicki of Telemark.

“Unspoken” by Maciej Adamek has won the Best Feature Documentary Film Award at the Lighthouse Lens Film Festival in the United States. Held in New Haven, Connecticut, the festival presents independent cinema, including documentaries, fiction films and short films, with a particular focus on productions addressing important social issues.

Four Polish projects have been selected for the 30th edition of Baltic Sea Docs, one of the most important industry forums for documentary filmmakers and producers from the Baltic Sea region, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and beyond. The anniversary edition of the event will take place from 6 to 11 September 2026, and among the 26 selected projects, as many as four are being developed with the participation of Polish filmmakers and producers.
