SO CLOSE AND YET SO FAR
POLISH TITLE: TAK DALEKO, TAK BLISKO
The film portrays five persons who look back at their childhoods from a life-long perspective. Deportation, loss of loved ones, disease, fear and hunger are their common experience of World War II. It is a story of memories, identity, broken family ties. The main characters of the film today live in Russia, Israel, England and Poland. They have been searching for contact or trying to forget for years. How did they cope with the past? Can the broken ties be restored? Can lost time be made up for?FILM REPRESENTED BY THE KRAKOW FILM FOUNDATION
