THE CABARET OF DEATH
POLISH TITLE: KABARET ŚMIERCI
A story about artists of Jewish origin who organised performances, cabaret shows and concerts in ghettos and concentration camps. The film focuses on the events from the time of German occupation, which are commented on by people working in the field of culture, such as Jan Szurmiej, Volker Kühn or Leopold Kozłowski, to name just a few. Complementing the story, there are archival materials and spectacular staged scenes with the recurring figure of Rubinstein, a madman and street clown from the Warsaw ghetto.
