The story of an over 30-year-long marriage is a pretext to Anna Kasperska, the director, to tell two tales. The first one is private and focuses on two people who have spent the best parts of their lives together although emotions between them died out a long time ago. The other one presents a broader context of the post-1989 transformation period where the director effectively utilises old newsreels. As a result, she manages to capture the constant pressure between the private and political dimension of her story.
