THREE CHANTS

POLISH TITLE: TRZY PIEŚNI

REPRESENTED BY KFF

Kamil works as a lollipop man. Smiling, he guides pedestrians across a street every day, seeking brief or long conversations with them. After work he comes back to his large apartment with three tiled fireplaces, where he has lived alone ever since his grandmother Gienia died.

Afternoon singing classes in an alternative choir give Kamil the chance to try and discover his own identity. He performs with the choir, where the only person who can sing professionally is Laura – a girl who spent most of her childhood in various hospitals. Laura suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta and needs constant care, so she is fully dependent on her mother, Malgosia. Now the two women face another challenge: Laura is about to start studying at the faculty of fine arts.

Przemek, on his part, is at a turning point in his life. His marriage has broken down, and his wife and teenage daughters recently moved to Warsaw. Przemek tries to find a place for himself in this new situation and provide for his children – Matylda, who has just quit her job, again, and Gabi, who has made a decision to transition.

Once a week, everyone meets at unique choir practice. Together they play, sing and laugh, all while working on a new show.

"Three chants" is a film about singing yourself out, breaking a negative cycle and finding solace in community with other people.
