POLISH TITLE: BYĆ JAK MIKOŁAJ

In this coming-of-age film Mikołaj enters adulthood and begins the fight for his future... but to do so, he must first reconcile with his father, Piotr. Will they be able to find common ground and grow up together? Can a simple conversation on a bench help avoid the greatest tragedy? At the same time, Mikołaj faces typical challenges of youth - first job, first love, parties - but also the need to confront the Kafkaesque judicial system that does not recognize his gender identity.

photographer and director. She graduated from the University of the Arts in Poznań and the Wajda School. Her project titled „If there's a Tree, It's Pretty” opened, the photography biennales in Riga and Chiang Mai in Thailand. She has directed short documentary forms for National Geographic for which she received award for best TV documentary series. She likes to mix different types of visual media. She grew up in small village and it made her tender for people who tell us their stories.
