MAGIC HOUR

The term genius clan could be used to refer to this family of world-renowned Polish cinematographers. The story focuses on Piotr Sobociński (a son of Michał and the father of Michał and Piotr Jr.), who, among others, was the author of photography for Kieślowski’s films. He left behind a vast archive of private video footage, much of which was used to create this documentary. The family chronicle and the depiction of changes that have occurred in Poland over a few decades reveal the price one pays for one’s aspirations and dreams. Piotr Sobociński’s Hollywood career and untimely death expose the dark side of success in the film industry.
