THE ROMANIAN LETTER

POLISH TITLE: RUMUŃSKI LIST

In 1981 a Romanian worker, Iulius Filip, sent a letter with greetings to ‘Solidarity’ which was read out at the first union convention. Securitate was not inactive. Filip was arrested and after the trial this Romanian enthusiast of the Polish trade union was sentenced to eight years in prison. Now, after several years, Iulius Filip arrives at Gdańsk as a guest of another ‘Solidarity’ convention.
