He was also a many-year member of the Polish United Workers' Party, leader of the Patriotic Union „Grunwald” and a candidate to the Polish Parliament on the list of Samoobrona, a populist party. He claims that everything he did in his life was to defend the thruth, the good and the beauty. Were these values really essential in his acting?

born in 1978, Ksawery Szczepaniak is a screenwriter and film director. A graduate of the Krzysztof Kieslowski Faculty of Radio and Television at the University of Silesia, he won a place on the Nipkow Programm, a Berlin-based fellowship and residency and attended the Ekran+ (Screen) and Development Lab programmes run by the Wajda School in Warsaw. He is interested in Polish-German and Polish-Jewish dialogue, the fortunes and vicissitudes of the Polish diaspora and the glitter and shadows of fame. He is a running enthusiast.
