THE CURSE
POLISH TITLE: KLĄTWA
The film is a record of daily activities of pregnant women which are presented as rituals. Aestheticized film frames refer to the act in painting and photography. Intimacy is shown by slow editing of scenes, mild, diffused daylight and delicate tones of colours. The presented image shows the intimacy of pregnancy, its archetype, and peace and security of women at home. The idealized reality is disturbed by events that occur after childbirth.
