"OVER THE LIMIT" SHORTLISTED FOR IDA AWARDS
A documentary "Over the Limit" by Marta Prus was noticed by the members of International Documentary Association (IDA). The film was shortlisted for the IDA Documentary Awards in the feature film category.
International Documentary Association (IDA) was established in 1982 as a non-profit organisation whose aim is to promote documentary cinema. For over 30 years its members has been giving out the IDA Documentary Awards to the best documentary productions in a given year. "Over the Limit" by Marta Prus was this year shortlisted for IDA Documentary Awards in the feature film category.
"Over the Limit" is a portrait of an elite Russian rhythmic gymnast, Margarita Mamun. It shows the most important year of her career and her last chance to achieve the ultimate goal - the gold Olympic medal. The film offers an exclusive access to the hidden world of the elite gymnastics and a unique insight into the triangle between the young sportswoman and her two trainers: Amina Zaripova and Irina Viner. "Over the Limit" is an intimate drama about the brutal relationships that lead to success.
IDA has its headquarters in Los Angeles. The organisation focuses on film education, through a film fund finances documentary film production, holds documentary film screenings, publishes a quarterly called "Documentary", etc. Since 1985 it has been handing out IDA Documentary Awards.
