POLISH CO-PRODUCTION RECEIVES EMMY AWARD
One of this year's winners of the International Emmy Awards is Gregory Monro's documentary Kubrick by Kubrick. The film was co-produced by Polish company Telemark.
The International Emmy Award is made by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to recognise the best television programming produced and initially aired outside the United States. The first awards ceremony was held in 1969.
This year, the Academy recognised the French-Polish documentary about the outstanding filmmaker Stanley Kubrick. Kubrick by Kubrick directed by Gregory Monro was awarded in the Art Programming category. The film is a unique record of an interview with the exceptional director. Kubrick very rarely gave interviews, he did not like to explain his films and wasn't particularly fond of the media, hence a certain aura of mystery that surrounds the silent artist. The company Telemark is the Polish producer of the awarded documentary.
