POLISH PROJECTS IN LOCARNO
Producers Barbara Welbel-Vaknin, Ewa Hoffmann and Dagmara Piasecka will be representing their new documentary film projects at Match Me! – one of the most important industry events at the Locarno Film Festival.
Match Me! is a key programme taking place as part of Locarno Pro, the industry platform of the Locarno Film Festival. It serves as a networking platform for new and emerging producers who possess a clear vision and ambition when it comes to international co-productions. The aim of Match Me! is to support these filmmakers in navigating the global film market through organised one-to-one meetings and personalised networking events with potential business partners. The programme seeks to strengthen international relationships, assist in finding co-producers, and enhance the visibility of participating producers within the film industry.
At this year's edition of the event, the Polish producers are going to present two documentary film projects. Ewa Hoffmann will appear with a new title directed by Marcin Sauter. Snowflakes explores the dreams, hopes, and fears of contemporary teenagers from around the world. Meanwhile, Barbara Welbel-Vaknin will present Goodnight, Princesses by Iga Łapińska. This documentary is being created from VHS recordings, focusing on children, families, and Poland during the transformation period.
