FESTIVALS IN NOVEMBER

In November, Polish documentary films will appear, among others, at the festivals CPH:Dox in Denmark, Cottbus in Germany as well as at many international mountain film festivals.

Still in October, the Spanish festival Miradas Doc started, where as many as six Polish documentary films are shown: "It's Only A Dream" by Jakub Michnikowski, "The Shepherd's Song" by Vahram Mkhitaryan, "Super Unit" by Teresa Czepiec , "W. Sisters' Beauty Salon" by Jakub Stożek, "Starting Point" by Michał Szcześniaka and "A Promise of Childhood" by Piotr Morawski and  Ryszard Kaczyński. The last three films mentioned above, as well as "Casa Blanca" by Aleksandra Maciuszek and "The Authors" by Janusz Mrozowski, will be shown in China within the frames of the Gold Panda Awards.

On the last day of October started also the BANFF Mountain Film and Book Festival in Canada, where "Jurek" by Paweł Wysoczański and "K2. Touching the Sky" by Eliza Kubarska will compete for the awards. These two films, together with "Sati" by Bartłomiej Świderski, are also included in the competition at the Graz Mountain Festival in Austria. At Bansko Mounatain Film Fest in Bulgaria, apart from "Jurek" and "K2. Touching the Sky," fans of mountain films will also see "The Shepherd's Song" and "The Place" by Julia Popławska. "K2. Touching the Sky" represents Poland at the BBVA Mountain Film Festival in Trello, Spain.

At the beginning of November, the Vox Feminae festival in Croatia is held, where "Starting Point" will be shown. On the same day, November 3, started the Cottbus Film Festival, in the programme of which there are "Super Unit" by Teresa Czepiec and "Strongwoman" by Kacper Czubak. "Strongwoman" will also be in the last days of the month at the St. Petersburg International Festival of Debut and Student Films. "Knife in the Wife" by Vita Maria Drygas, will be shown there, too, and it will also appear in the competition at the Luksuz festival in Slovenia.

5 November is the first day of the Leeds International Film Festival in Great Britain, where "A Documentary Film" by Marcin Podolec will compete for the award. It is also the day when CPH:Dox begins, in whose competition there is the Polish-Icelandic production "Grace of God" by Kristján Loðmfjörð, and the beginning of the International Short Film Festival in Istanbul, where "Super Unit" will be shown.

The film by Teresa Czepiec will also appear on the screens of the ARPA festival in the USA. At DOC NYC, apart from "Super Unit," "The End of the World" by Monika Pawluczuk is included in the competition. The documentary film by Teresa Czepiec will appear on November international festivals two more times: at the Alcine 45 festival in Spain, together with "It's Only A Dream" by Jakub Michnikowski and Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival  with "Figure" by Katarzyna Gondek. "Figure" was invited by the selectors of the Interfilm festival in Germany and the European Short Film Festival of Brest in France.

Polish representation of documentary films appears also at the Listapad festival in Minsk, there the audience will see "Brothers" by Wojciech Staroń, "Casa Blanca" by Aleksandra Maciuszek and "Call Me Marianna" by Karolina Bielawska. The latter  will be shown also in the United States at Denver Film Festival, in Ireland at Cork Film Festival, in Lithuania within the frames of the European Film Forum Scanorama and at the Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia. In the second half of the month, at the film festival in Ljubljana, "Object" by Paulina Skibińska will be present. This documentary film was also included, together with the film "It's Only A Dream," in the programme of the Sleepwalkers short film festival in Estonia. "Object" and "The Place" by Julia Popławska will be shown at the RIDM - Montreal International Documentary Festival in Canada.

Polish documentary film will also reach New Zealand, where, at the festival Show Me Shorts, "The Island" by Natalia Krasilnikova will compete for the awards. At the Verzio festival in Hungary, "My 89 Generation" by Paweł Jóźwiak-Rodan and "The Dybbuk. A Tale of Wandering Souls" by Krzysztof Kopczyński will be shown.
