"CLOSE TIES" WINS THE AUDIENCE AWARD AT CINEAST
This weekend, the festival CinEast in Luxembourg ended. The Audience Award in the short film category went to the documentary film "Close Ties" by Zofia Kowalewska.
CinEast is a festival in Luxembourg, dedicated to films from Central and Eastern Europe. Since 2010, the festival gives awards both to full-length feature films and short films. This year, Polish film won the Audience Award in this category. "Close Ties" by Zofia Kowalewska was chosen the Best Short Documentary Film by the audience in Luxembourg.
"Close Ties" tell the story of the forty fifth marriage anniversary. Barbara and Zdzisław could be proud of themselves if not for the fact that for eight years the husband left the wife for his lover. But now they are getting older together, although Barbara claims that if it were not for his infirm legs, Zdzisław would still be 'chasing skirts around Krakow'. Despite the past resentments and everyday problems with bills, occupied bathroom and furniture rearrangement, they are linked by a hard to define bond.
