POLISH PITCH AWARDED AT FIPA DOC
Yesterday, One for the Team, directed by Kasia Wiśniowska and produced by Kasia Kuczyńska from HAKA Films, received the awards for the best international pitch and Docs Barcelona award at the prestigious French festival FIPADOC.
FIPADOC is an international documentary film festival held in Biarritz, France. Over the course of the six-day event, viewers get to see the most interesting documentaries from recent months and attend numerous meetings with creators. There is also an industry part that lets film professionals exchange experiences.
One of the events at the industry part is a presentation of documentary film projects. Kasia Wiśniowska and her Polish-Belgian co-production One for the Team were invited for this year’s pitch session. The presentation turned out a success and brought the awards for the best international pitch and award from Docs Barcelona. The documentary is about a teenager and her mother, a boxing champion. The girl sees sport as a way to establish a stronger bond with the woman but does not realise how much it will affect their mutual relationship. Kasia Kuczyńska from the HAKA Films studio is responsible for the film's production on the Polish side.
