Matej Bobrik’s documentary – the best in Petersburg
At the 8 Open St. Petersburg Film Festival “Begining”, which ended 23rd September in the current year, “Where the Sun doesn’t rush” received the award for the best documentary film.
Bobrik’s film is a story about small Slovak village. People moon about on the empty streets, look with boredom at their bored neighbours. Only the woman working in the local radio has something to do. She looks for the manager of an abandoned cemetery, or is brought an announcement… This film is an impression about the slowly-dying village, where the old times are gone, and the new ones haven’t begun yet.
Matej Bobrik is a student of Directing Department at the Film School in Lodz, and his documentary has already received awards in Minsk and Krakow, among others.
