"JOANNA" - THE BEST DOCUMENTARY AT LOS ANGELES MOVIE AWARDS

Directed by Aneta Kopacz, "Joanna" has been recognized abroad again. The film has just received the Best Documentary Feature award at this year's Los Angeles Movie Awards.

The jury of this year's edition of Los Angeles Movie Awards announced "Joanna" by Aneta Kopacz as the Best Documentary Feature. The protagonist is a beautiful, intelligent and sensitive woman, tasting every moment. Despite her illness and the sentence: cancer, three months of life left. She promises her 5-year-old son to do everything, to be with him as long as possible. She fights. She writes a blog for Jas, where she describes their everyday life, honestly and accurately. For many readers she becomes an icon of a mindful and joyful life. The film shows fragments of the life of Joanna, her husband Piotr and her son Jas. Played within the discreet observations, special ambience, uncluttered with dialogues, often funny. Simple, but sensual, about living in the moment, about going away and about love.

The Los Angeles Movie Awards are given in January every year to the films in one of ten categories, including: best narrative feature, best narrative short, best documentary feature, best documentary short, best animation, best experimental, best student film etc. As pointed out by the organizers, their mission is to create a place, where independent filmmakers can be acknowledged for their work.
