POLISH REPRESENTATION AT SHEFFIELD DOC/FEST

The festival Sheffield Doc/Fest takes place from 7 to 12 June. In the competitive sections of this event, the films "Joanna" by Aneta Kopacz and "Our Curse" by Tomasz Śliwiński will be shown. Furthermore, a delegation of Polish producers invited to the festival will present their new projetcs.

Sheffield Doc/Fest is the largest documentary film festival in the UK, organised since 1994. Two Polish films will participate in this year's edition of the festival. "Joanna" by Aneta Kopacz will be screened in the Euro Docs section, which makes the British audience acquainted with the best European documentary films made last year. "Our Curse" by Tomasz Śliwiński will participate in the Short Docs programme, presenting short films.

The festival is accompanied by film market and co-production forum Meet Market. The Polish Docs Delegation will participate in the event this year. The delegation was organised with the support of Polish Film Institute, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and Polish Cultural Institute in London. After the selection of the submitted projects, the representatives of the following production companies have been invited to participate in the delegation:

- Pokromski Studio, the project "Ethiopiques. Revolt of the Soul" by  Maciej Bochniak
- Arkana Studio, the project „Antonio in Radom” by Jerzy Śladkowski
- Centrala, the project "Monk from the Sea" by Rafał Skalski
- Ragusa Film, the project "Common room” by Dariusz Kowalski
- Lava Films, the project "21xNew York" by Piotr Stasik

The producers will have a chance to present their film projects to a wide group of international experts and hold a number of meetings with potential co-production partners and representatives of financing institutions. Furthermore, one of the projects - "The life of the butterfly" - qualified for the prestigious pitching during Meet Market.
