POLISH PROJECTS AT MEETMARKET IN SHEFFIELD
Meetmarket, the industry event at the festival Sheffield Doc/Fest, is held on June 13 and 14. Two Polish projects will participate in the pitchings - "Over the limit" by Marta Prus and "Unconditional Love" by Rafał Łysak.
In this year's MeetMarket, 65 projects from 28 countries will participate, which will be shown to the representatives of the film industry during two days. At MeetMarket, one can meet over 300 invited decision-makers: editors, distributors, sales agents, representatives of film funds, television channels, and media markets. One-to-one meetings are held after having made an appointment using the Internet platform, where the guests can see the submitted projects and choose the ones which seem interesting for them.
Among the selected projects, there are two Polish productions. The first one is "Over the limit," directed by Marta Prus. "Over the limit" is an intimate portrait of the sportswoman Margarita Mamun. The film documents the crucial year in her life, from the World Cup in 2015 to the Olympic Games in 2016. The gymnast stands the most important chance in her life, to become an Olympic champion, but in order to achieve it she has to compete with her best friend from the same club, Yana Kudryavtseva.
The second project, which will take part in MeetMarket, is "Unconditional Love" by Rafał Łysak. The documentary film tells about 80-year-old ardent Catholic and her 26-year-old homosexual grandson, who set out on a journey towards mutual understanding, acceptance and unconventional love.
