“VIKA!” AWARDED AT HUNGARIAN FESTIVAL
The documentary by Agnieszka Zwiefka came back from the Budapest International Documentary Festival with the award for best feature, as decided by the festival's Senior Jury.
Every year, the Budapest International Documentary Festival invites creative and acclaimed documentary films to its competitions. Attending the event provides creators with a great opportunity to both present their productions and become part of a large industry platform.
This year, Vika! by Agnieszka Zwiefka has been one of the invited films. The Senior Jury was captivated by the documentary and gave it the main prize.
Vika is 84 years old and is one of the oldest DJs in the world. Through her approach to life, she escapes the stereotypical perception of senior citizens. Adored and surrounded by a young audience, she proves that age is just a number. Her life is filled with music, dance, and unrestrained jory. But there's also another side to this story. To pursue her dreams, Vika had made life decisions that left their toll on the relationship with her family. Agnieszka Zwiefka's latest film is a bittersweet documentary musical about committment to following one's own path and fighting for one's dreams.
