“IN THE REARVIEW” WINS MORE AWARDS
The documentary by Maciek Hamela continues to captivate audiences and international festival jurors, as evidenced by two awards at the Rencontres du Cinéma Européen Film Festival. The film received the main prize in the DocDocDoc competition as well as the Audience Award.
Held in France, the Rencontres du Cinéma Européen Film Festival is an event entirely dedicated to European films. The festival showcases the latest productions, attracting both seasoned filmmakers and young talent. It provides an excellent opportunity to explore the diverse facets of European cinema and to meet its creators.
The award-winning documentary by Maciek Hamela is a gripping social documentary and a candid portrayal of people's migrations, with much of the action taking place in the back seat of a van which the director used to transport over 400 Ukrainians to safety. Among the many cinematic portrayals of war, both existing and those yet to come, In the Rearview is simply a collection of moving stories, depicted without unnecessary effects or additional narration. And most importantly, it brims with hope.
